After the fall of the Taliban post 9/11, music slowly returns.

Musicologist Ahmad Sarmast works with the Afghan government to rebuild music education, founding the Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM) in 2010 and musicians who were forced into exile, began to return to revive the industry.
